- Sandstone ballast is stone which is split into blocks approx 400 x 200 x 200.
- Easiest type of stone to shape into a formal wall.
- Generally split across the grain.
- Is sold either by the block or by the square metre.
Sawn Stone.
- Used for the capping of retaining walls, pier caps, stone letter box construction, crazy paving footpaths, formal paving
- Available in two finishes, diamond sawn (smooth finish) and gang sawn (roughish finish).
- Product is ordered in especially. Common thickness' are 50mm and 75mm.
